FINALLY someone (the Treaty chiefs) has the courage to name what is really going on here, because our Premier’s actions are TREASONOUS. She meets regularly with American Republicans and with MAGA influencers. Through her staged referendums she is paving the way for the breakup of Canada. In preparation for this, she has AMERICANIZED our health care and education systems (privatizing both) and social services (taking money from the homeless, the disabled, and from women’s shelters, LGBTQ+ youth, and now immigrants). She is creating her own police force and pension plan. She has undermined our democracy through voter suppression and by not protecting voter information. She has ignored two petitions (against coal and against separation) that collected 400,000+ and 200,000 signatures respectively, tying them up in committee —while at the same time going out of her way to facilitate the separatist petition (including changing legislation several times in order to make it easier for them!). And now she is trying to undermine our legal system through the political appointment of judges.
And I haven’t even mentioned the corruption that seems to pervade everything her government does, nor her shameful behavior in disrespecting the Treaties and Indigenous peoples!
Since legacy media isn’t doing ANY kind of reporting like this, it’s important to amplify voices like Brandi Morin, to somehow get these stories to the average canadian reader who doesn’t usually hear these truths.
The problem seems to be exactly that. This past few weeks I’ve been at hair places, skin places yet NOBODY I’ve talked to even has a clue what’s going on. The last one said she doesn’t follow politics, then HOW can you even vote? I know through connections that young CITY workers are aware, what is the missing piece for the service industry? How?
It's a huge problem, especially in Alberta, that people actively avoid anything to do with politics 363 days a year and then go out and automatically vote for whoever is calling themselves conservative, just like their grandparents did. No concern for what is going on at all. Just blind faith that as long as the government is "conservative" all is well in the world. Infuriating. Difficult to overcome. We need to talk to people, share articles, write letters to the editor, try to get people paying attention. I don't believe all these people would think what the UCP are doing is OK (if they knew), but they have chosen to shut their eyes to it.
Paying First Nations creators like Brandi Morin, is the best way to amplify our voices. Share her work along with other content creators that are Indigenous people. Write letters of support for the chiefs. Keep talking. It all helps.
Also disgraceful: Implying she won't put the Water not Coal question on this otherwise pointless referendum, after originally promising she would if it got the required signatures (it did), and although she's putting the invalid separatist question (which Elections Alberta won't even count) on anyway. Not to mention the nine mean, racist, petty, powergrab questions she came up with on her own.
I fully support this! The Sith needs to own her crap, just for once in her life. She does not serve Albertans in any way shape or form. Not even her base.
I agree that Smith is a separatist based on her behaviour, and I think she is probably a traitor who has shown no loyalty to Canada and who would hand over Alberta to the criminal Trump without hesitation. She is in it for herself first of all.

He told a 17 year old who tried to ask about education that he should be put over his parents' knee (be spanked, he meant)
